Publications and Projects | Video Tutorials | Collaborative Genealogy: Gussie Audrey Manlove

Introduction

These videos were produced for the Rapid City Public Library's YouTube channel.  In April of 2009, I began making tutorials to showcase library services and market them to patrons.  To date, I have made 46 videos for the Rapid City Public Library.

E-book Tutorials

I have made several e-book tutorials for the Rapid City Public Library's YouTube channel and e-book help website.  You can see all of them on this e-book tutorial website, and one to the right as an example.

OPAC TUtorials

I have made several OPAC tutorials for the Rapid City Public Library's YouTube channel.  The first were when the library's ILS was Ex Libris, the next when we made the shift to Innovative, and the last when we installed updates to Encore.  You can see an example to the right.

Promotional/Other

The Rapid City Public Library Youtube Team would often be tasked with creating miscellaneous videos for the channel, either to promote library services and programs, or to simply share the physical library space with online patrons.  When the Public Services staff started fielding questions about a baby bird in the Youth Services aviary, I made a short educational video about Gouldian Finches.

I took advantage of a bright green wall in Youth Services and used chroma key composting to make it look like a couple of Rancher-Librarians were traveling the world to round up stories for a summer reading program themed "One World, Many Stories."

Lastly, library management asked staff to envision the library in 2017 as part of the 2012 State of the Library meeting.  Instead of performing a skit, I used XrtraNormal to animate scripts written by various staff members.
